Conceived in September 2001, Premier Cru Music joined the ranks of influential record labels,
taking on the world’s diverse music markets and offering multiple layers and textures of music at it’s best.
Established by George Katsiris and named after a wine classification, the
name 1er Cru translates into music the French concept of
"terroir" where the producer and the
geographic peculiarities that go into a product hold the
utmost value.
The first release Enjoy Detroit appeared as an EP in 2001, garnered a press and distribution deal and went on to be sold on
CD in Japan and Europe.
